Technical Competencies
Process systems are usually complex and demanding. They require accurate measurement and control. They are highly sensitive to contamination and often involve high pressures and temperatures. Big J has deep experience in process piping for air, high purity gasses, liquids, acids and other chemicals, or foods.
Big J hires, trains and maintains a variety of technical certifications for its welders and other trades. Current certifications include

- SA-53 Type E Grade B
- SA-53 Type F
- SA-312 Type 316L
- SA-106 Grade B
Process Systems
Big J has been an innovator in moving much of its process piping assembly off site. In our fabrication division, we have a carbon steel unit that can handle piping up to twenty-four inches in diameter and a high purity shop with certified orbital welding capability. Our own clean room is certified "Class 10".
Making Systems Work
The Big J Fabrication Division can assemble pipe spools in our shop maximizing quality control and minimizing site contamination. This is just one example of our leadership in process systems. Big J tradespeople are highly skilled and undergo continuous training. Our experience in semiconductor manufacturing means that we know how to do process system construction and installation in the most demanding manufacturing environment in the world. This environment requires the latest equipment and techniques which means our tradespeople are always on the cutting edge of process system construction.
Many of our estimators, project managers and contracts people have come up through the trades and understand the complexities of building and installing process systems at a hands-on level which helps avoid design problems. Our constructability reviews and value engineering reduces your costs, minimizes expensive change orders and keeps your work on schedule and budget.
