Title: Journeyman Pipe fitter

General Summary: Must be qualified to obtain a Colorado or New Mexico State Journeyman Pipe fitters license and have a minimum of 4 years industrial and heavy commercial experience as a journeyman pipe fitter.

Qualifications:

v Experience in installation of Carbon Steel and SS Steel piping systems

v Experience working with and fitting for welding personnel

v Extensive experience installing schedule 40, and schedule 80 PVC piping systems

v Experience soldering and brazing copper piping systems

v Experience in reading blueprints

v Experience with isometric drawings

v Knowledge of tools and techniques used in installing piping systems

v Competency in math skills

v Common knowledge of industrial installation standards and practices

v Understanding of OSHA LO/TO requirements

v Dependability

Skills Required:

v Capable of working with and directing 1 to 2 apprentices/helpers

v Capable of installing complex piping systems with direction from supervision

v Capable of producing material requests for piping systems in advance

v Capable of following all safety policies and company policies

v Capable of proper use of company tools and equipment

v Good communication and problem solving skills

v Must be a self-motivated and proactive tradesman

Preferred Experience:

v Clean room construction experience a plus

v High purity pipe installation

v Ultra pure water installation

v Stainless steel tube bending

Education and training: (Helpful but not necessarily required)

v Documented training certificates

v Documented participation in the trade apprenticeship programs

v Documented trade experience

v Long term employment/employer provided training programs

v High School diploma/GED

v Computer literacy/CAD training

v Vendor supplied training certificates

v Valid driver’s license

References and Employment History:

v References will be requested and checked

v Employment history will be verified

v 10 year criminal history background check/drug screening required prior to employment

v History of longevity with employers a plus

v Pre-employment drug screening required
